sa Gastroenterology clinic is designed to give the patients a more spa like environment. a place where they can be at ease and have access to the comforts and care that they need. The environment is achieved by using soft color palettes and the incorporation of ample daylight. lighting provided is ample enough for the tasks at hand while still being subtle enough that it does not cause discomfort.

the clinic space was designed with the different needs of each client in mind. each of the bathrooms are ada accessible with the center of the toilets 18” from the wall and a 30” x 48” clear floor space in front of each sink. that clear floor space is also found at each check in/check out desk, to allow for ease of access to clients with disabilities. with ada guidelines, each change of direction has been given enough clear floor space to provide those in wheelchairs with the required 60” turn around radius. the space also includes bariatric seating in the waiting areas and exam rooms .

a hallway that circles around all the exam rooms allows for ease of travel for the clients and workers, allowing the clients to not get lost in a maze of hallways when trying to find their exit. this layout also gives the clients the peace of mind that they can turn either direction upon exiting their room and find an exit nearby. this layout also provides all of the offices, work areas, infusion suite, and faculty lounge the outer edges of the building. this was done because the users of these spaces would be staying in their respective areas longer than those going into an exam room. this gives them daylight as well as outside views.
