deepa and owen wanted a bathroom that was functional for all members of their family as well as accessible for their elderly in-laws. they wanted the space to be warm, inviting, luxurious, and sustainable. this bathroom provides the family with a universal design, making it usable for everyone. this is accomplished by adding grab bars on the back and side walls near the the toilet, as well as grab bars in the shower. the walls will be reinforced provide the support needed for the minimum 250 pound weight that is required. clear floor spaces infront of the shower, sink and toilet have been implemented into the design, as well as an ada turn radius of five feet, in order to provide convience and comfort for those using wheelchairs or with mobility difficulites. slip resistant flooring installed throughout the whole bathroom, inlcuding the shower floor, was provided forthe safety of all those who use the space.
