March 16, 2021deepa and wwen want a kitchen that is functional for all members of their family while being stylish and sustainable. this kitchen allows for Owen and Deepa to have their own space to work in the kitchen, whether they are cooking or baking. this is accomplished by providing adequate prep space in two spaces in the kitchen, as well as locating the cooktop and wall ovens with adequate space between them to allow for easy use when they are both being used. the dishwasher has been placed next to the sink for convenience when doing the dishes. the sink has been placed in the center island to allow for easy and quick access wherever the user is in the kitchen. all required landing spaces have been achieved near the rangetop, sink, refrigerator, and wall ovens. with the required landing spaces achieved, food preparation and clean up with be must more efficient and convenient for the family. in order to achieve the sustainability factor that Deep and Owen were hoping to achieve, energy efficient appliances and low flow appliances have been chosen. as well as providing low-e films on the windows to maximize the air condition of the interior during the winter and summer months. barstools have been placed along the island to aid in a more social environment in the kitchen as well as offering a second dining space. the cabinets are a neutral color with a colorful backsplash and colorful pattern on the island facing the barstools. color and pattern are also found on the barstools at the island.
